You are Never Alone

Hebrews 13:5: Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said,

“Never will I leave you;
    never will I forsake you.

There is a chorus from a song that speaks to me so deep one day. I sing it to those who are feeling lonely, those who feel that there is no one who cares for them and those who feel they are abandoned.

The chorus goes like this:

NO NEVER ALONE

NO NEVER ALONE

HE PROMISED NEVER TO LEAVE ME

NEVER TO LEAVE ME ALONE – Never Alone

Jesus is our Jehovah Shammah (The Lord is there). Hebrews 13:5, the faithful Lord gives us a promise that He will never leave us nor forsake us.

Personal Touch

During one of our hospital ministry, a male patient at the Hospital told me that his children were busy with their own lives and did not visit him, and he felt unloved and abandoned.

TOGETHER
When the word of Jesus was shared with him, this dear elderly uncle, who was also a grandpa, accepted the Lord there and then.

He kept saying, “I am not alone, Jesus is with me.

A Tamil ministry group visited him later but because he was bedridden and fragile, I believe our gracious Lord has taken him home. Isn’t His timing perfect? He knows the uncle’s time and sends His people to bring the uncle into His Kingdom.

Together
Yes, we are never alone. No matter what, we have our gracious Lord with us. So gracious that His love chases us down even to the last phase of our lives.

Make a Decision Today

Today, we can make a decision to reach out intentionally. It can be anyone that crosses our lives every day. Our own family members, neighbours, people we see on public transport, our colleagues, business partners and even strangers you know you’ll meet just that one time.

Community

You never know, it is that one small decision to reach out that changes a person’s life forever. It can be a smile, it can be a simple genuine question “how are you” (please sit through the answer and be willing to listen), the one meal you’re willing to pay and the time you’re willing to give.

It makes a big difference in this world that tells us love is for ourselves, not for others. Jesus doesn’t give His life to love Himself.

He is an incarnation of God’s love for everyone. Let us all be one.
