Locust Destroy, God Repays

A story was told about Thomas Edison, the father of numerous inventions who saw his barn turning into an inferno. That was the place where numerous inventions and testing were carried out. As the fire grew bigger and unlikely to be extinguished, Edison told his son Charles to call his mother and all her friends to come to see the fire they will never see again.

Edison’s reaction to the fire surprised Charles but Edison said, “It’s all right son. We got all the rubbish burned. But your mother has never seen a fire like this.” The fire destroyed his years of hard work and many testing records. After the fire, Edison was heard saying,

House burn

“Although I’m 67 years old, I will start all over again.”

As I recalled this story, I wonder how many of you have suffered losses, experienced failures and have not recovered or recouped since then? Are you stuck at rock bottom? Hopes, dreams, and aspirations disappeared into thin air. You see your future as bleak and joyless while hopelessness and despair elude you and to break out in freedom is daunting and scary.

Like Edison, you can start all over again. He did not allow the fire which destroyed his hard work to crush his future. God can build and allow U-turns when we suffered losses, made mistakes or wrong decisions. He is ever ready wanting to put things right for you.

Joel 2:25 is simply awesome where it says,

“I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten the great locust and the young locust, the other locusts, and the locust swarm my great army that I sent among you.”

It means what happened to you matters to God. He is in the business of rebuilding and repaying your “ruins” due to failures, mistakes and blunders made.

Isaiah 60:22 says,

“When the time is ripe, I will make it happen.”

Fresh figs

God is faithfulness and will repay what the locusts have eaten once you do things right and in accordance with His ways. It’s not the falling down but the getting up that is important. Do not allow the stumbling to be the end of the road but the start of another amazing journey for you.

Life is demanding by all counts but when you are on the right track, you can trust God “to repay for the years the locusts have eaten away.”

God will see to it that you stay afloat in the midst of hard times and He repays even all that the devil had taken from you. When God makes things happen, you will be astounded, dumbfounded and confounded provided you do the right things.

Presents

Rest assured of 1 Corinthians 2:9 where it says,

“Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”

“Everything the enemy has stolen, God is going to restore: the joy, the peace, the health and the dreams.” –Joel Osteen

When the locusts have eaten all that you and I have, remember

when we have nothing left but God, we discover that God is enough.”
