Welcome to the Chinese Service. We meet at 8.30am every Sunday in the main sanctuary. This service is conducted in Mandarin and caters specifically to the Chinese Speaking community in Kajang. If you’ve been looking for a Chinese church, we’d say this is the place for you! The Chinese Service is pastored by Ps. Peter Lai and his wife, Ps Lee Khon. You can expect a very upbeat service, as our young Ps Peter is an energetic, upbeat person with an infectious joy and laughter.
What are we like?
We have about 200 people attending this service every Sunday. Our people come from all walks of life and in all ages. If you come here often enough, you will find that you will slowly become a part of a big family, with people who care as much about you as if you’re part of their family.
What happens on Sundays?
Basically, we have worship, followed by the sermon, prayer and fellowship. You might find that the congregation is very active and responsive during worship and the sermon time. This is because we are just totally on fire for God and want to express it in shouts and praises! If you are unfamiliar with this, don’t worry, you’re just going to get used to it!
After the singing, we will usually give out bags and ask for offerings. Why is the offering important to us? Basically, it’s according to what was written in the Bible, that those who attend a particular church shall give a portion of their earnings back to God. After all, we believe that everything we have is from God. This is also an extremely practical way of supporting the church operations such as the different ministries, the missions, the outreach churches we support etc. It is through this generous giving from the members and worshippers in the church that the church can grow and stand till this day!
Just come, be yourself, leave your cares and worries to God, open your hearts as you worship and listen to the sermon. There will surely be something for you, let it speak into your heart. For the Bible says, if you come seeking God, you will surely find it!
What else do we do?
It is most untrue when you hear people say that Christianity is a Western religion and that the Chinese have to forget their culture and tradition. In the Chinese Church here, our culture, heritage and tradition are very important to us. We celebrate all the important Chinese celebrations such as Chinese New Year, Mooncake Festival etc. We take this opportunity as a time of gathering and giving thanks to our God for everything in our lives.
How can I be part of this community?
Be a part of us just by coming to the service or attending any of our activities. You are also given opportunities to serve in the various ministries. Dont’t forget to check out our cells too!
