In 1985, God had given a vision to Rev K.K. Sinnadurai to start a BM Service. The BM service was started when he saw the needs of the students from Sabah and Sarawak who at that time, were studying in Abdul Aziz Shah School, Jalan Cheras.
This ministry was helped by Sis Alison Kong and also Pas Joshua Low and Pas Johnny Li. There were about 30 students who came for the service every week. There were also locals such as Chinese and Indians that were attending the church as well. A lot of potential was seen in the BM service as many of the students conversed to each other in BM.
Besides high school students, students from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia that came from Sabah and Sarawak also joined the service, numbering around 15-20 people.
In addition to that, there were a lot of Indonesian workers who started attending the service here. The amount of people who came began to grow. In the beginning there were about 50 people under the leadership of Pas Jeremiah in 1988. Finally, he went into full time ministry in 1989.
Today, the average attendance of the BM service has reached around 100 people every week. 60% of them are Indonesians, 25% from Sabah and Sarawak and 15% are locals.
Besides Pas Jeremiah, Pas Julian went into full time ministry in 1996. An Indonesian worker, Salomo, has accepted his calling into full time ministry here and is now studying in the School of Theology in Medan under the support of KAOG. We continue to pray that more people will rise up to serve in the Lord in full time ministry.
