  • Proverbs 31:30  – Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised. 


Sometimes I feel like the most beautiful lady. Especially when people actually took the effort, stop me on my track, just to let me know I look beautiful. Let’s face it, we ladies, love such compliments. But how long can a compliment last?

Is it biblical to rely on constant compliments to know we are beautiful and valued?

Our Worst Enemy

Most of the time if I’m not careful, my brain starts to pick out everything I think that is wrong with me. My skin is too dry, pimply. Arms too thick. Thigh too flabby. Don’t even start with tummy and the perfectly round face. There is just nothing right about me at times.

Do you have such battle? I do.

Worse when our friends look ethereally beautiful all around us.

“Why am I not as   _________________ as her?” Sounds familiar?


But the Lord says, always think of everything GOOD. We should really start to learn to be kind to ourselves.

  • Philippians 4:8 –  Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

Chasing Tails

  • Psalm 139:14 – I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

When I forgot who I am, I found myself chasing the “beauty” that the media decides for the society.

I completely lost my Father’s thoughts and His hands that specially design me. I forgot I’m lovingly made by my maker.

“What do you mean you don’t like yourself? I work so hard on you” – saw this on Pinterest.

That breaks my heart. For parents, imagine your children telling you they don’t like themselves. Our heart will break..because that’s part of us in them! His breath is in us! He’s part of us!

When He whispers to remind me, I’m made by God and is a Child of God, my focus changed from wanting to be something else to start discovering who I really am in Him.

Hey Ladies

  • Ephesians  2:10 – For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.

We’re special because there’s no one like us! Our mind, soul and spirit are vastly unique. Let’s not get busy chasing tails and lost sight of what we need to build, things that have already been given to us, uniquely us.

Surely there are characteristics and attitudes that we need to allow Holy Spirit and friends around us to help us to get better. Let’s humble ourselves and let others speak life into us. Afterall, His goal is to make us more like Him, not what we want. 


I’m not saying we should start chugging down carbs and do whatever you want with ourselves. If we truly love ourselves, we will do everything to protect this sacred flesh that God made. Honouring the trust He has given to us regarding our body.

Get Real

  • Songs of Songs 4:7 – You are altogether beautiful, my darling; there is no flaw in you.

When it is Him who radiates through us, it’s not the physical that makes us beautiful, it’s His presence and glory.

I had a huge scar and weeping wound on my nose just a week ago. It affects my appearance for sure, I mean its hard to dismiss a bleeding volcano. Yet it did not stop people from telling me I am beautiful, in a large crowd. Our beauty truly is fickle, it changes, but His countenance doesn’t.


It is Him in us that makes the difference, it is the confidence that stems from His love and approval of us that makes us truly beautiful.

It is lasting, its constant and it is infinitely eternal. Leaning on this truth we don’t need to turn to anything else for validity.


I pray you start seeing yourself the way He does. When you forget. I pray you will pay attention to the reminder He sneakily express through His creation.

My face is still round, height is still short but I’m loved by our Father in heaven, So loved. That’s enough for me, I hope that’s enough for you 🙂
