Just Look to Jesus

I’ve read this post before, where a pastor was asking a lady to hold a glass filled with water around the church. So she was just focusing on the glass of water without caring about who is around her and what is going on.

Our Focus

I think that it is beautiful to set our eyes on Jesus alone. I actually placed a cross on my study table with the word “Love” on it with the 1 Corinthians 13 verse. When I turned off the lights, I took a glance at the cross, and guess what, even though I know the cross is there but it is so difficult to spot it well, coz its dark.

So when I finally get a glimpse of the cross in the midst of darkness, I receive a sweet revelation.

Daily Decisions

In our daily lives, indeed it is difficult to focus on God, just like how I couldn’t see the cross in the darkness.

But one thing I know Jesus had always been in our lives, daily. Just like the cross had always been there on the table. He isn’t like the waves tossed around, He’s the same God who spoke to the sea and walked on the waters, and He’s the same God who comforts us in our storm. The God who will never change yesterday, today and forevermore.

To take up the cross daily, deny ourselves and putting Jesus as priority is never easy.

  • Prayer meetings vs that awesome party to attend
  • Waking up early vs sleep on bed that suddenly turns extremely comfortable
  • Agree the wrong ideas, values and principles with the peer’s vs be the oddball that stands up for the right thing
  • Join to gossip vs rebuke the slanders

Guess what? It will never ever be easy because it requires us to make decisions that will sow either into His Kingdom or our flesh. His Kingdom requires constant and costly sacrifices.

So do we sow into things that are fleeting or unchanging like Him?

When We Fail, Which We Will

He will be angry when we sin but even in anger, He chose to love us, all we have to do is repent! Thank you, Jesus!!

He’s the God of Love! What do we expect? And He loves us even when we’re so busy looking at the things around the cross, looking at the darkness around the cross, but hey, the cross is still there. Faithfully.

God says when we seek Him with all of our heart, we will find Him. Isn’t it exciting how He loves us? And how we can just seek Him and boom, we found Him! Tada! That love is unexplainable.

From a fairy tale
I don’t get how Jesus, bearing all the pain on the cross, could focus on us, remembering that He’s doing it for the atonement of our sins and for the glory of His Father, not for Himself. But one thing I know, which is, I can never explain how great, deep and wide His love is.

His Love Stands

We are loved, and this love is not by what people say, but by what the Lord says. I think we should always have this radar or antenna on top of our heads to discern what is from God and what is not. Oh wait, that’s our dear Holy Spirit!

When you get thoughts from the enemy, tell the s.a.tan that,

“nuh uh, not today, not in forever.”
Empire Penguins, Edinburgh Zoo

Don’t ever get distracted because of what the enemy says, but instead, look to the good Papa above all the earth. He’s there. Just turn every storm and failures to Him, He is indeed, waiting faithfully for us to take all of us to Him.
