Rev. Rutherford is the Founder and Director of Asian Ministry Teams (AMT), and Global Ministry Teams (GMT), a mission organisation labouring to motivate, enlist, train and release the next generation of missionaries with a special emphasis on the unreached peoples.

Missionary Evangelist

Irvin and his wife, Linda have worked as missionaries with the International Programme Teen Challenge. They have established Teen Challenge Centres in the United States, Vietnam, Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia and Singapore.

Though the focus of AMT/GMT has been sending Asians as missionaries, many young people in the West are also becoming a part of the programme. Irvin says, “People in the West are open, full of information, and give a forceful presentation of the gospel. People from the East have wonderful traditions of hospitality and a family orientation. We can blend the truth of the West with the grace of the East, and the gospel is effectively preached.”

Rev. Rutherford has a Masters Degree in Cross-Cultural Communications. His main goals are to facilitate vision, mobilise workers and network with those who have a Kingdom heart for bringing closure to the Great Commission.

Irvin and Linda are presently residing at Spartanburg, South Carolina and have six grandchildren.
